Dave Legasse served as the Chairman of the Georgia Grown Commodity Commission, which promotes Georgia’s abundant agricultural resources and the people of Georgia who produce food, cotton, and timber enjoyed worldwide. As a commissioner and later as the chairperson,  Dave traveled near and far to promote the food products produced by Georgia’s farmers and food processors.

Dave and Carol Legasse are founding corporate sponsors of The Savannah Voice Festival.

As the founding corporate sponsors of the Savannah Voice Festival, Dave and Carol Legasse have continued their commitment as major sponsors each year since, including several in Pooler, Georgia. The most recent event was held in August 2023 at the Mighty Eighth Museum. That performance featured songs from the WWII era. Following the sold-out event, Dave and Carol pose with Maria Zouves and Sherrill Milnes, founders of the Savannah Voice Festival.

Dave Legasse was a co-founder and 5-year chair of “Rotarians Play it Forward,” a regional fundraiser aimed at eradicating polio worldwide.

Along with Carolyn Trosdal and Steve Stephens, Dave Legasse co-founded “Rotarians Play it Forward.” And, for five years, Dave served as chair of the successful Georgia coastal area fundraiser in the effort to eradicate polio worldwide.  The series of annual events netted over $250,000 as part of an international effort. Rotary International has contributed more than $2.6 billion to fight polio. As a result, only two remaining countries are currently dealing with polio.

The ‘Play it Forward’ event featured top local talent, such as the much-loved Ben Tucker, an internationally renowned jazz musician.
